Hanoi invests more than 241 billion VND to implement 21 projects for 2 mountainous communes of Quoc Oai district

Reporting at the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quoc Oai district Hoang Nguyen Ung said that the district has 2 mountainous ethnic communes, Dong Xuan and Phu Man. The population of the 2 communes is 7,229 people, accounting for 3.47% of the district's total population, of which the Muong ethnic group accounts for 75.1%, the rest are Kinh, Tay, Nung, Dao, Thai, San Diu, La Hu, Kho Mu ethnic groups...

In recent years, the ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas of Quoc Oai district have received attention from the Party, the State and Hanoi city, supporting many resources for socio-economic development, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities.

Implementing the National Target Program for the Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period, Hanoi City has invested more than 241 billion VND in 2 communes to implement 21 projects. Focusing on the fields of: Education and training, transportation, agriculture, culture, health, etc.

By the end of 2024, the mountainous ethnic communes of Quoc Oai district had implemented 20/21 projects; most of the projects were completed and put into use, bringing many benefits to the people.

Thanks to investment, the transportation system of the two communes has been upgraded and expanded, contributing to economic and social development; infrastructure in ethnic and mountainous areas has been significantly improved, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been enhanced.

In particular, the economy of ethnic minority areas has developed significantly, hunger eradication and poverty reduction have achieved great results; average income per capita is increasing...

Regarding the key tasks for the 2026-2030 period, the district focuses on mobilizing all resources for rapid and sustainable development, ensuring social security in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; connecting ethnic minority areas with plains and urban areas. In particular, taking agricultural development as the foundation, gradually applying advances, science and technology to production associated with the development of ecotourism...

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Nguyen Quan said that in the coming time, Quoc Oai district needs to focus on finalizing completed projects, putting them into use and speeding up the progress of remaining projects.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the two communes and Quoc Oai district, such as: Supporting vocational training for ethnic minorities to develop the economy..., comrade Nguyen Nguyen Quan requested Quoc Oai district to develop a specific project and submit it to the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to report to the City People's Committee for support in the period 2026-2030.
