Hanoi meets the team competing in the 2025 Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad

On August 8, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a meeting to encourage a delegation of Hanoi students representing Vietnam to prepare to participate in the 2025 International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.

The 2025 International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) will be held in India.

Overview of the meeting.

Participating in this year's exam, the Hanoi team representing Vietnam has 5 students, including 4 students from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and 1 student from Newton Secondary - High School.

4 students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted include: Vu Nguyen Nguyen, Nguyen Truong Yen, Dang Nam Phong, Nguyen Minh Hieu.

Student of Newton Secondary - High School is Hoang Pham Minh Khanh.

Leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training presented flowers and congratulated 5 students participating in the IOAA 2025 exam.

At the meeting, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said: to prepare students for the exam, the Department and schools organized review and practice sessions for team members with the support of experts from the Institute of Space Science , Hanoi National University of Education, Institute of Physics, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, etc.

In addition, the students also received enthusiastic support from students who won medals at previous years' competitions.

On behalf of the team members, Vu Nguyen Nguyen, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, expressed his honor at having the opportunity to participate in the competition, and at the same time expressed his determination and promise to maximize his ability to achieve the best results.

Congratulating 5 excellent students of Hanoi on becoming official members, representing Vietnam to participate in the 2025 Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong expressed his hope and belief that the students will try their best, enter the exam with confidence and bring home excellent results.

“The City People's Council has issued a Resolution stipulating appropriate bonus levels for city students with high achievements in domestic and international competitions and teachers with achievements in training and nurturing award-winning students…”, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong emphasized.

It is known that in 2024, 5 members of the Vietnamese delegation participating in the IOAA exam were students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. As a result, all 5 excellent students won medals, including 2 Silver Medals and 3 Bronze Medals.
