Reporting at the conference on digital transformation of Hanoi's health sector in 2024 on May 30, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Deputy Director in charge of Hanoi Department of Health said that with 6 tasks of Project 06 in the health sector including: medical examination and treatment using chip-embedded citizen identification cards; "cleaning" Covid-19 vaccination data; connecting data on driver's health examination results; connecting data on death certificates and birth certificates; medical examination and treatment using biometrics (Self-service kiosk) and piloting health records (HSSK), electronic health books, the City has so far achieved important initial results according to the set roadmap and progress.
Accordingly, from January 1, 2024 to present, medical examination and treatment facilities of the Hanoi health sector have received more than 4 million medical examinations and treatments using chip-embedded citizen identification cards replacing health insurance cards. Vaccination facilities have electronically authenticated 17.31 million Covid-19 vaccine injections; at the same time, closely coordinated with Task Force 06 of localities to authenticate over 1 million cases of incorrect information. Successfully connected and digitally signed about 196 thousand records on the Health Insurance Appraisal Portal.
Regarding the implementation of electronic health records and electronic health books, the City has created electronic health records for more than 9 million people; standardized information on the system for 7.75 million people; updated citizen identification information for more than 6.16 million people; updated health insurance card numbers for more than 4.3 million people.

The city has also completed the issuance of 3,200 accounts to units and individuals participating in exploiting and using the system; organized the connection and interconnection of health insurance data of 50 hospitals, 39 general clinics and 297 medical stations. To date, the city has synchronized nearly 3.3 million people's health records to the National Insurance Database Portal to serve the display of electronic health book information on the VneID application.
Accordingly, applying digital transformation in medical examination and treatment, 5 hospitals of the Hanoi health sector have effectively deployed electronic medical records including: Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology, Xanh Pon General Hospital, My Duc General Hospital, Van Dinh General Hospital and Hoe Nhai General Hospital. 5 hospitals implementing remote medical examination and treatment include Hanoi Heart, Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hanoi Oncology, Xanh Pon General Hospital and Thanh Nhan Hospital.
At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai said that in the past time, the Steering Committee of Project 06 City has left a strong impression with positive results in implementing electronic health insurance and non-cash social security payments, these results recognized the great contribution of the capital's health sector. The conference continues to be an opportunity and a forum for city leaders, leaders of ministries, branches, organizations and individuals to share experiences in directing and implementing digital transformation.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai emphasized the key tasks and solutions, in the coming time, digital transformation is a continuous process without stopping, first of all starting from changing the awareness of leaders, heads of agencies and organizations, clearly identifying the issues that need priority and determination to implement, then digital transformation will create high efficiency.

The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee suggested that the health sector should focus on studying three issues including sector planning and sector strategy in implementing digital transformation; building regulations and processes, especially the process of inter-agency coordination in the operations of agencies and units; implementing in a standardized and systematic manner the application of information technology and digital transformation. Thereby integrating plans and implementation tasks, saving resources and time.
“Green transformation and digital transformation must go hand in hand, support and promote development together. For example, digitalizing film contributes greatly to environmental protection and cost savings. This is digital transformation from the smallest, most effective and most scientific things,” emphasized Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ha Minh Hai.
In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested the health sector to continue researching, consulting, and proposing solutions to promote digital transformation in the city .
