Hanoi: Striving to welcome 30 million tourists by 2030

The goal of this Plan is to promote tourism development, ensure double-digit economic growth, improve the efficiency and quality of planning, infrastructure investment, tourism product development, and turn the capital's tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of districts, towns to implement a number of specific tasks. The Department of Tourism will take the lead in implementing plans on the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, with the goal of welcoming 30 million tourists, including 5 million international visitors, and achieving revenue of 30 billion USD from tourism; providing full information on the Planning and Implementation Plan to relevant units. In particular, the Department will focus on applying information technology, digital transformation in the tourism industry, building a digital tourism map system and maintaining industry data management.

The Department of Finance will coordinate in developing the 2025 Public Investment Plan and a list of projects calling for investment in the tourism sector. The Department of Planning and Architecture will accelerate planning for areas with potential for national tourism development, including Ba Vi Tourist Area and Hoan Kiem Lake area.

The Department of Construction will coordinate the renovation of parks and the development of tourism port infrastructure, while the Department of Agriculture and Environment will review tourism investment projects associated with environmental protection. The Department of Culture and Sports will advise on the implementation of commercial and cultural development models, while the Department of Industry and Trade will build a center for designing and promoting OCOP products.

People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are required to prioritize budgets for infrastructure investment projects at key tourist destinations, and at the same time complete important cultural and tourism planning projects.

The Tourism Corporation will manage and preserve historical and cultural values ​​at tourist establishments, while speeding up the implementation of investment projects for renovation and new construction.

With specific tasks and high determination, by 2030 the tourism system will be strongly developed, contributing to the sustainable economic development of the city.
