Hanoi: Thousands of passenger cars added to serve people during September 2nd holiday

Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company has planned to increase the number of vehicles to best serve the travel needs of passengers and take the initiative in operating and organizing transportation at bus stations during the upcoming National Day holiday on September 2.

According to the report of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, the National Day on September 2nd will be a 4-day holiday (from August 30th to September 2nd (including the swap of working days according to regulations). This is the end of summer, the demand for travel, tourism and sightseeing of people is expected to increase sharply, especially on inner-city routes, routes connecting bus stations, train stations, airports and entertainment venues, shopping centers, walking streets.

Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company requested the Hanoi Department of Construction to temporarily grant 700 temporary vehicle badges.

It is expected that the number of passengers and vehicles during the National Day holiday in 2025 will increase from the afternoon of August 28-30 on both departure and arrival directions. The number of passengers will increase on September 1-2 and will gradually decrease on September 3-4.

Specifically, at Giap Bat Station, the highest number of passengers on peak days departing from Giap Bat Bus Station is about 20,000/day, returning about 10,000/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days; expected number of buses is from 850-900/day. The increase in passengers is mainly concentrated on routes of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa...

At Gia Lam station, the highest number of passengers during peak days is about 5,000 passengers/day in the afternoon from Gia Lam bus station, about 1,500 passengers/day in the afternoon, an increase of about 250% compared to normal days, the expected number of buses is 400 buses/day, mainly concentrated on routes such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang...

At My Dinh station, the number of passengers on peak days departing from My Dinh bus station is about 22,000/day, returning about 12,000/day, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days, with an expected number of more than 950 vehicles/day, mainly on the following routes: Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang,...

Similar to the annual National Day holiday, peak times often have a sudden increase in both the number of passengers and the number of vehicles, so additional vehicles from transport units will be mobilized to supplement when necessary. For routes with a very high increase in passengers, vehicles from other routes will be mobilized.

In case the number of vehicles of transport units still cannot meet the travel needs of passengers, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company will deploy a plan to mobilize reserve vehicles that were rented before the holiday to increase the number of vehicles on the route to serve the people.

Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company also announced the total number of additional vehicles of 1,000 vehicles, of which Giap Bat Bus Station will increase 324 vehicles, Gia Lam Bus Station will increase 146 vehicles and My Dinh Bus Station will increase 530 vehicles. The number of additional vehicles will be allocated by day and by route depending on the increase in passenger volume.

To serve the work of increasing the number of vehicles to relieve passengers during the National Day on September 2, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company requested the Hanoi Department of Construction to temporarily issue 700 additional vehicle badges valid from August 28 to September 5, including 400 additional vehicle badges for less than 300km and 300 additional vehicle badges for over 300km.

Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company also requested Hanoi Transport Corporation to direct bus operating units to prepare plans to mobilize backup vehicles to clear all passengers during peak days.
