Hanoi attracted 3,897 million USD of FDI capital in 9 months, 2.9 times higher than the same period in 2024

According to Hanoi City Statistics, in September 2025, the city attracted 87.9 million USD in FDI capital.

Of these, 42 projects were newly registered with a total investment capital of 24 million USD; 8 projects had their investment capital adjusted to increase with an additional registered capital of 17.6 million USD; 39 foreign investors contributed capital and purchased shares with a capital of 46.2 million USD.

In the first 9 months of 2025, Hanoi attracted 3,897 million USD of FDI capital, 2.9 times higher than the same period in 2024. Of which, 301 new projects were registered with a capital of 307 million USD; 114 additional projects increased investment capital with 3,217 million USD (of which the Yen So park construction project of Gamuda Land Vietnam Co., Ltd. with capital contributed by Malaysia increased by 1,120 million USD); 265 foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares, reaching 373 million USD.

Also according to Hanoi City Statistics, development investment capital in the city in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated at 156.3 trillion VND, an increase of 19.7% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 11% over the same period last year.

Of which, state capital reached 58.1 trillion VND, accounting for 37.2% of total investment capital and increasing by 15.5% over the same period; non-state capital reached 88.2 trillion VND, accounting for 56.4% and increasing by 7.7%; foreign direct investment capital reached 10 trillion VND, accounting for 6.4% and increasing by 15.7%.

By investment item, capital for basic construction investment in the third quarter is estimated at VND99.9 trillion, accounting for 63.9% of total investment capital and increasing by 12.8% over the same period in 2024; capital for purchasing fixed assets for production is VND39.2 trillion, accounting for 25.1% and increasing by 9.1%; capital for major repairs and upgrading assets is VND9.3 trillion, accounting for 5.9% and increasing by 4.7%; additional working capital is VND6.6 trillion, accounting for 4.2% and increasing by 5.4%; other investment capital is VND1.3 trillion, accounting for 0.9% and increasing by 4.8%.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the city's development investment capital reached 379.8 trillion VND, up 10.7% over the same period last year. Of which, state capital reached 142.5 trillion VND, up 16.5%; non-state capital reached 211.7 trillion VND, up 7%; foreign direct investment reached 25.6 trillion VND, up 12.1%.

Investment capital implemented from the state budget managed by localities in September is estimated at VND 8,786 billion, up 1.2% compared to the previous month and up 22.8% over the same period last year. It is estimated that in the third quarter of 2025, investment capital will reach VND 25.9 trillion, up 33.5% compared to the second quarter of 2025 and up 22.8% over the same period in 2024.

In the past 9 months, the investment capital from the state budget managed by localities reached 59.5 trillion VND, up 31.1% over the same period in 2024 and reaching 56.9% of the yearly plan. Of which, the city-level state budget implemented 26.5 trillion VND, up 52.6% and reaching 53.3%; the commune-level state budget implemented 33 trillion VND, up 17.8% and reaching 60.1%.
