In his opening speech, Mr. Pham Quoc Toan - Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training - said: The Hanoi City Science and Technology Competition (HASEF) is held annually to encourage students to conduct scientific research and apply knowledge to solve practical problems; it is an opportunity for students to enhance cultural and educational exchanges between localities.
This is also an opportunity to prepare students for scientific research style, career capacity and entrepreneurial potential; to link students' scientific research activities with innovation in teaching methods and forms; to innovate methods and forms of assessing learning outcomes, contributing to the development of students' qualities and capacities.

According to Mr. Pham Quoc Toan, scientific and technical research activities of students have contributed to creating connections, bringing scientists and laboratories of universities and research institutes closer to high schools. This is also a favorable condition for scientists to meet students, guide them to explore, create and "pass on the fire" to the younger generation.
Commenting on this year's competition topics, Associate Professor Dr. Khuat Huu Trung - Deputy Director of the Institute of Agricultural Genetics, member of the jury of the Hanoi City Science and Technology Competition - said that students' topics are increasingly diverse, rich, with broad expertise, good ideas, and progressive presentations.
The jury will work impartially and objectively to find worthy projects and award prizes. For the winning projects, experts will suggest students to continue developing their ideas so that they can compete at national and international levels. For the unwinning projects, they will also encourage and motivate students to explore, create, and promote the spirit of loving science.

Hoang Nam Khanh, a 12th grade Math 1 student at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, shared: The contest not only honors the best projects but is also a useful academic playground, an opportunity to help us promote our creativity, practice scientific research thinking, and apply knowledge to real life.
“Each product is the result of the students’ dedication and efforts with the support of their teachers. Through the competition, we have the opportunity to interact and exchange with our peers. I promise to participate in the competition with the spirit of honesty, solidarity, mutual learning, and striving to achieve the best results,” Nam Khanh expressed.
