Hai Duong and Foshan City (China) strengthen cooperation and friendly exchanges

On the morning of November 6, comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee received and worked with the delegation of Foshan City, Guangdong Province (China) led by comrade Liu Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Mayor of the People's Government of Foshan City.

The delegation of Foshan City visiting and working in Hai Duong included representatives of the management board of Foshan City High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Office of Policy Research of Foshan City.

Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang welcomed the delegation of Foshan City to visit and work in Vietnam in general and Hai Duong in particular. He informed that recently, the delegation of Hai Duong province led by Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and worked with the leaders of Foshan City. He assessed that Hai Duong and Foshan City have many opportunities to cooperate for mutual development.

The Provincial Party Secretary gave an overview of the socio -economic development of Hai Duong province. Hai Duong is located in the center of the Red River Delta, with a population of about 2.1 million people. Hai Duong is one of 18 provinces and cities that are balancing their budgets. The province developed industry quite early, and now has nearly 20,000 operating enterprises, including nearly 600 foreign-invested enterprises (including 313 enterprises from China). Currently, there are 110 Chinese investment projects in the province with a total registered capital of over 900 million USD, ranking 4th in terms of the number of investors. Hai Duong creates all conditions for enterprises to operate smoothly. However, among the Chinese investors operating in Hai Duong, there are no enterprises from Foshan City.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang hopes that in the coming time, the two provinces and cities will promote cooperation in socio-economic fields to contribute to strengthening the friendly relationship between the two Parties and States in general and the two provinces and cities in particular. He proposed that Foshan City support cooperation between the city's vocational school and Hai Duong Vocational College. He hopes that Foshan City's leaders will be a bridge to help the city's enterprises learn about and invest in Hai Duong, especially enterprises investing in electric vehicles, which is Foshan City's strength... Hai Duong will create favorable conditions for Chinese enterprises in general and Foshan City in particular to invest in the province.

Standing Deputy Mayor of Foshan City People's Government Liu Jie expressed his joy at being able to visit and work in Hai Duong right after the working trip of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu in Foshan City.

Comrade Liu Jie wanted to learn about the situation of Chinese enterprises investing in Hai Duong and hoped that the two localities would cooperate in many areas.

Immediately after the working session, there was a meeting and a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and friendly exchange between the People's Committee of Hai Duong province and the government of Foshan city.

On behalf of the leaders of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung gave an overview of the province; discussed the socio-economic development situation; introduced investment promotion policies and the development situation of industrial parks in Hai Duong province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung informed about the fields in which Hai Duong wishes to attract investment with the working delegation of Foshan City.

The People's Committee of Hai Duong province hopes that in the coming time, the province will attract projects using high technology, clean technology, environmentally friendly, projects with large investment capital, capable of creating competitive products, with a large export proportion in the international market, and at the same time making a great contribution to the provincial budget. Hai Duong province requests Foshan City to support connecting Chinese investors in general and Foshan in particular to learn about investment in Hai Duong in a number of fields.

The Standing Deputy Mayor of the People's Government of Foshan City hopes that Hai Duong and Foshan will cooperate in many fields.

In the field of trade, it is recommended that Foshan City support connection and promotion activities to export key agricultural products, handicrafts, OCOP products of Hai Duong province and other potential products to the Chinese market in general and Foshan City market in particular. Support Hai Duong enterprises to participate in trade promotion programs, trading events, promote and introduce products at fairs and exhibitions of Foshan City.

Promote cultural exchange, people-to-people exchange, youth exchange, send art troupes to perform to introduce traditional cultural identity and cultural heritage values at major events and festivals of both sides. Hai Duong province invites the table tennis team of Foshan City to participate in the Con Son Cup International Table Tennis Tournament. Foshan City creates conditions for young, high-achieving athletes of Hai Duong to exchange experiences, receive training, etc.

After the talks, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province and the government of Foshan city signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and friendly exchanges.

On the same afternoon, the delegation from Foshan City visited a number of industrial parks in Hai Duong to learn about the operations of industrial parks and related investment promotion policies to encourage businesses in Foshan City to invest in Hai Duong province.
