After nearly 15 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Tien Lang District (Hai Phong City) has achieved important results. With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the active participation of social forces and the consensus and strong response from the people, Tien Lang District has completed 9/9 criteria, officially achieving the standards of an advanced new rural district.
By the end of 2024, 100% of communes in Tien Lang district have been recognized as meeting new rural standards and advanced new rural standards. Of which, 12/20 communes have been recognized by the city as meeting model new rural standards. After merging communes in 2025, 10/18 communes have been recognized as meeting model new rural standards; the remaining 8 communes are completing documents to submit to the city for appraisal and recommendation for recognition. The district strives to have 100% of communes meeting model new rural standards by the end of 2025. Tien Lang town has been recognized as meeting civilized urban standards.
In 2024, the district's average income per capita will reach 78 million VND/person/year, an increase of 3.35 times compared to 2011 and 1.49 times compared to 2020. The average multidimensional poverty rate in communes will decrease to 0.57%. 100% of people will have access to clean water according to standards from the centralized water supply system. All villages and residential groups in the area have been recognized as cultural residential areas. The rate of people participating in health insurance will reach over 95%.
Education continues to be maintained and developed strongly, with 26 consecutive years of students winning national excellent student awards. The district focuses on investing in building national standard schools at all 4 levels; to date, the whole district has 44 schools meeting national standards. The landscape and environment are guaranteed according to the criteria of green - clean - beautiful. Political security and social order and safety are always maintained, contributing to creating a stable foundation for local socio -economic development... With the achieved results, on March 13, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 586/QD-TTg recognizing Tien Lang district as meeting advanced New Rural standards in 2024.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chuyen, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Party Committee's Inspection Commission, congratulated and commended the outstanding achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Tien Lang district have strived to achieve in the past time, and requested the Party Committee, government and people of the district to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the policies and resolutions of the Central and the city; especially focusing on the work of Party building and rectification, building a clean and strong political system.
At the same time, it is necessary to promote democracy, strengthen the great national unity bloc, and create broad consensus among the people. In addition, the district needs to strengthen discipline and administrative order; ensure ideological stability among cadres, party members and people, and be ready to reorganize the administrative apparatus according to new regulations.
Mr. Chuyen emphasized the need to continue to maintain and improve the quality of advanced new rural criteria, striving to build the district to meet the model new rural standards. In particular, the focus is on promoting economic development associated with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values; focusing on building a green, clean, beautiful and safe living environment, aiming to comprehensively improve the material and spiritual life of local people.
On this occasion, Hai Phong City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 9 collectives, 1 household and 11 individuals, the District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 14 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" in the period 2021 - 2025.
