On September 9, in the waters of Khanh Hoa province, Ship 016 - Quang Trung, belonging to Brigade 162, Naval Region 4, participated in a joint training at sea with a fleet of ships of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Vuong - Deputy Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff of Brigade 162 directed the coordination training session.

Previously, the two sides held a coordination conference to agree on the contents to be implemented during the joint training at sea. The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy fleet, including a destroyer (number 174) and two amphibious transport ships (numbers 987 and 985), and the Gepad 3.9 missile frigate, number 016-Quang Trung of the Vietnam People's Navy, took turns commanding the training of horizontal, vertical, zigzag, and diamond formations, and sea logistics using the methods of continuous and simultaneous rotation; international signal information using the "Code for Handling Unexpected Encounters at Sea of the Western Pacific Navy (CUES)"; and search and rescue training before performing the salute ceremony, successfully concluding the visit to Vietnam at Cam Ranh International Port from September 6 to 9.

It is noted that the two sides have successfully completed the training contents; exchanged communication information by flags and via radio network quickly and accurately, achieving the set goals and requirements, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects. This is an activity to strengthen, promote and deepen the friendly relationship between Vietnam and China in general and the Vietnam People's Army, Navy, and Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy in particular.
