A series of events attract summer tourists in Da Nang

Da Nang organizes a series of events such as music festivals, food festivals, kite shows, Flashmob Zumba performances, and paragliding to attract tourists this summer.

On the afternoon of July 4, the Department of Tourism announced a series of programs for the 2023 Da Nang Summer Enjoyment Festival - Wow Da Nang. The festival lasts from July 28 to August 1, with 11 fun and entertainment activities such as the Summer Enjoyment music festival, the Vietnam - International Food Festival, kite art performances, paragliding, Flashmob Bikini kids, Flashmob Zumba.

Events take place in many places such as East Sea Park, Ha Khe Beach Park, beaches, streets and Son Tra Peninsula.

Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that Da Nang tourism is gradually recovering and developing strongly, a series of events and festivals are continuously organized, contributing to creating a vibrant, fresh atmosphere attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists to the coastal city.

In the first 6 months of the year, Da Nang welcomed and served more than 3.5 million visitors, reaching 89% of the 2023 plan, of which international visitors are estimated at 930,000 and domestic visitors are estimated at more than 2.5 million; revenue from accommodation and travel services is estimated at VND 6,231 billion, up 99% over the same period in 2022.

The city also re-organized the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, after a 3-year suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Each performance night attracted more than 60,000 visitors, including about 20,000 international visitors.

"To become an attractive destination, a conference and festival event center as expected, this summer, Da Nang will not only have a fireworks festival but also countless new experiences and many other attractive events and festivals to attract tourists," said Ms. Yen.

"Wow Da Nang" is an annual and increasingly diverse event, helping to promote tourism and beach resort products, bringing people and tourists many new activities, contributing to positioning Da Nang - Asia's leading tourist destination.
