As early as 7am, many parents took their students to the exam site, leading their children all the way to the school yard.

Many candidates appeared worried and nervous, while their parents continuously held their hands and patted their shoulders to encourage them.

However, in the morning of the Vietnamese and English exams, a series of candidates entered the wrong exam location. In this situation, teachers at Thanh Xuan Secondary School took turns "on duty", and when they discovered any students entering the wrong address, they immediately used motorbikes to take them to the correct address. In the photo, a female parent stopped at the school gate to check the exam room information and code for her child to avoid going to the wrong location.

A teacher at Thanh Xuan Secondary School used his personal motorbike to "increase the tip" for candidates to get to the correct exam location, and at the same time asked parents to follow behind so they would know where to pick up their children at the end of the session.
Teacher Phung Chi Truong said: “Parents only took their children to the school gate and then dropped them off, but they didn’t know they had taken them to the wrong exam location because there were 4 different exam locations including 90 Nguyen Tuan; Nguy Nhu Kon Tum ; Thanh Xuan Trung Primary School and Dang Tran Con Primary School. Therefore, the school had to arrange 7 teachers, ready to run many rounds to take the children to the correct exam location and at the right time.”

"Everyone move aside to make way for the candidate who got the wrong score," Mr. Chu Hong Quan shouted loudly while moving his motorbike.

Before that, the school sent information via email so that parents could look up the location and exam room on the website. Perhaps because parents were subjective and did not pay attention, many students went to the wrong location.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huyen - Principal of Thanh Xuan Secondary School (in blue shirt) was also present at the school gate to help handle these situations. "The school had anticipated this incident. Fortunately, all the students arrived at the exam site on time," Ms. Huyen said.
Before taking the competency assessment test, Thanh Xuan Secondary School also reviews academic records for admission screening. In particular, the school requires students to achieve a minimum of 9 points in the year-end test in Math, Vietnamese (grades 1-5) and English (grades 3-5).
Orienting her child to take exams at high-quality secondary schools in Hanoi , determining the level of difficulty and competitiveness of these exams, from the beginning of 4th grade, Ms. Dao Thi Nhinh (Ha Dong) registered her child to study at a famous center, which was "word of mouth" among previous parents.
“If you want to get into high-quality schools, it will be very difficult to pass without taking external training, unless the student really has the qualities, is self-aware and puts in more effort than usual,” said Ms. Nhinh.
In addition to studying at this center, since the beginning of this year, considering this as the final stage, she continued to register her child for an additional Math and English class in Cau Giay, even though she had to study far from home. In total, her child attends about 6 sessions a week. In addition, she also registered her child to participate in Math competitions and awards to get used to the exam mentality.
Despite her tight schedule, Ms. Nhinh said her child still tries very hard because she understands that “with such a high level of competition, there is no other way but to study harder. Especially, with some schools that do not consider combined academic records, winning or losing depends only on one exam.”
