Carreras, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen are promising pieces for Real Madrid's defense at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. |
AS reports that the "Los Blancos" leadership is confident that they will have three new recruits in the defense before the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup begins. Young talent Dean Huijsen will become Real's first contract in the summer of 2025.
Huijsen is undergoing a medical and will sign a five-year contract with Real Madrid, lasting until 2030. The Spanish Royal team spent £50 million to buy the young midfielder from Bournemouth.
Real Madrid consider Huijsen a top talent, with new coach Xabi Alonso keen to bring him to the Bernabeu. Real Madrid have agreed to pay Liverpool a transfer fee of €2m to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold early.
Although Alexander-Arnold has confirmed that he will leave Liverpool, his contract with Liverpool only expires on June 30. With the summer transfer window temporarily open from June 1 to June 10 for teams participating in the FIFA Club World Cup to sign new players, Real Madrid want Alexander-Arnold to be available for the opening match of the group stage against Al-Hilal on June 18.
The same goes for Alvaro Carreras. Real Madrid are stepping up negotiations with Benfica to sign the left-back ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup in early June.
Carreras played for Real Madrid's youth team for three years before joining Manchester United in 2020. As a left-back with all-round offensive and defensive abilities, Carreras fits perfectly into the tactics Xabi Alonso plans to implement at Real.
On the right wing, Alexander-Arnold will significantly improve Real's attacking ability, even bringing many changes in the way coach Alonso operates his tactics.
Meanwhile, young talent Huijsen is capable of playing alongside Rudiger at the FIFA Club World Cup. At the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Real Madrid are in Group H with opponents such as Pachuca of Mexico, RB Salzburg of Austria and Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia.
