As part of the series of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi, the third season honored the historical and cultural values of Hanoi while contributing to community connection and spreading the spirit of sportsmanship , humanistic values, and solidarity.

This confirms the professionalism in organization and operation year after year . In its third season, The race attracted over 10,000 athletes participating in four distances: Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.097 km), 10 km, and 5 km. Notably, the 2024 season solidified its position as a professional marathon, attracting over 4,000 athletes in the Marathon and Half Marathon distances, accounting for nearly 50% of the total participants. Among them were over 200 international athletes from 42 countries and territories. Simultaneously, during the third season, from September 20th to 22nd , the 2024 Marathon Village welcomed over 20,000 athletes and visitors to nearly 20 exhibition booths.
This year's race saw many records and personal achievements broken. In the opening moments of the 3rd Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon, Nguyen Thi Oanh brought immense pride to the community with her official time of 2:44:20, securing first place in the women's marathon (42.195 km). Maintaining her consistent performance, Le Thi Tuyet (Vietnam) finished second with a time of 2:49:54. Pham Thi Hong Le (Vietnam) finished third, completing the race with a time of 3:00:17.
For the men's marathon distance : Edwin Kiptoo (Kenya) demonstrated his class by finishing first with a time of 2:30:31. Right behind, Rono Japhet (Kenya) finished second in the tense race with a time of 2:30:39. Chirchir Stephen Kipkosgei (Kenya) impressively secured third place with a time of 2:30:39. Immediately after receiving the award, Nguyen Thi Oanh (Vietnam) - the women's marathon champion - was overwhelmed with emotion: " I am very proud and moved to have broken the national marathon record at the 3rd Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon. This is the result of a process of continuous effort and training. This year's Hanoi International Marathon has created momentum for all athletes to break through to new distances, new milestones, and new achievements."
