Public behavior

Việt NamViệt Nam22/11/2024

- Tư! Did you go swimming in the sea again this morning?

- Yeah, I just got back, I'm taking the opportunity to rinse off the salt water.

Why don't you just throw yourself in the sea? Isn't it uncomfortable bringing saltwater back home?

- You're giving bad advice, Năm. In the coastal area of our city, the authorities installed these freshwater pumps for washing feet, not for you to shower.

- I still see many people, after swimming in the sea, going to the water fountain and collecting the water to bathe in, just like they would at home.

- Oh come on, sir, that's just the uncivilized behavior of some people. Not everyone who swims in the sea needs to rinse off the water like that. The purpose of these water jets is to serve beachgoers before they walk along the beach or onto the road, to rinse off the sand from their feet. Each person only needs a few seconds to do it, and their feet are clean, allowing them to walk comfortably. If everyone who swims in the sea had to wait to rinse off here, they'd have to queue from morning till evening.

- Well, I had to see how people behaved on our city's public beach. Every time I go to the beach, I see some people, after swimming, running to the water taps to fill up cans, then carrying them onto the road to shower as if no one else is around. It's really distasteful. While most of the access points to and from the beach face major roads and hotels with many tourists, both domestic and foreign, these people brazenly shower on the road after swimming. This unintentionally diminishes the image of civility of the people in the eyes of tourists.

- I know that filling a container with water to cover one's entire body inadvertently causes many other beachgoers to waste a lot of time just waiting for the water to reach their feet. Many people who have been made to wait have argued with those who fill containers with water for bathing; it's not a normal occurrence.

- This needs to have a huge sign posted on the water fountain or some other way to make people who use these public water fountains indiscriminately realize their poor behavior and correct it, because we can't just let this situation continue, can we, Tư?

- I'm just a beachgoer, Năm asked me, but who am I supposed to ask? This issue urgently requires members of various organizations and associations to offer suggestions and remind their family members, neighbors, and communities; while the authorities must devise solutions to eliminate these offensive and uncivilized images. Initially, it could be a reminder, gradually increasing the "intensity" of enforcement if people continue to violate the rules... Only in this way can we preserve the beautiful image of a civilized and friendly city in the eyes of domestic and international tourists.

- You're absolutely right! Everyone must get involved and work to build and maintain a "civilized city with friendly citizens." Seeing these offensive images and uncivilized behaviors is truly disheartening!

- This issue requires the collective voice of the community and the city's residents to work together to build a more beautiful and distinctive city. I think that if we don't remind people regularly, these unsightly behaviors will become more prevalent, and eventually everyone will consider such uncivilized behavior normal, which would be disastrous!
