NBC News reported on December 1 that senior US officials and a Ukrainian delegation met in Florida (USA) on November 30 to participate in the latest round of discussions on a plan to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The US side was represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, while the Ukrainian delegation was led by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Also attending the talks was Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, who does not hold any official position in the US government but plays an informal advisory role.

Both sides said the talks were "positive" but did not provide details. Secretary Rubio said the talks discussed not only the terms of ending the conflict but also the terms of establishing long-term prosperity for Ukraine.
"There's still a lot of work to do, but today (November 30), the meeting was very productive and useful. I think there was a lot of progress," Secretary Rubio said after the meeting.
Secretary Rubio emphasized his desire to build Ukraine into a "prosperous" country. He did not go into details, nor did he answer questions from reporters.
"As I said, our goal here is to end the conflict, but not just to end the war. We also want to help Ukraine be secure forever and, just as importantly, we want them to enter an era of true prosperity," the US Secretary of State continued.
Mr. Umerov agreed with Secretary Rubio's view, saying: "Our goal is a prosperous and strong Ukraine."
"We discussed all the issues that are important for Ukraine, for the Ukrainian people, and the United States was very supportive," Mr. Umerov added, describing the meeting as "productive" and "successful."
