When mentioning charity - social work , women's work in Lac Tan commune, Tan Tru district, Long An province, we immediately think of Ms. Tran Thi Nguyen (Ms. 9 Nguyen) - Head of Women's Association in Hamlet 1, with more than 30 years of charity - social work and actively participating in the local Women's movement.
Although the allowance was not much, Ms. Nguyen did not hesitate, sometimes using her own money to do the assigned work. Implementing the model of Turning trash into money launched by the Women's Union of Lac Tan commune, Ms. Nguyen is a core member supporting members, poor women and orphans, and children in difficult circumstances. Whenever she has free time and wherever there are plastic bottles and packaging, she and her sisters in the hamlet collect them and bring them to the collection point at her house.
She also propagates and guides households to classify waste, collect recyclable waste such as beer cans, plastic bottles, scrap iron, cardboard to support the model; mobilizes many households to participate in collecting waste along the roadside, both to keep the village clean and beautiful, and to raise funds to help poor children overcome difficulties.
Ms. Nguyen shared: "I just want to contribute a little effort with people to build a better life. As long as I am healthy, I will continue to contribute, hoping to spread good values to the community."
