This was Liverpool's heaviest home defeat since a 4-1 loss to Manchester City in 2021. Chelsea and West Ham were the only other two teams in the Premier League era to win by three goals at Anfield.
As the leader, coach Arne Slot has been heavily criticized on social media and is facing the risk of being fired. In an interview with the press after this defeat, Mr. Arne Slot admitted: "It is difficult to measure the severity of this defeat, but it is really bad. Playing at home, losing 0-3 regardless of the opponent is a very bad result. I can never make excuses for the current results. I have to take responsibility for that."
The defeat left Liverpool in 11th place in the table with 18 points, eight behind leaders Arsenal (Arsenal have yet to play this round). However, Arne Slot insisted he would find a way to end Liverpool's run of eight defeats in 11 games in all competitions.
He added: "Of course there are ways to get back up, especially with the quality of players we have... In a few days we have to play in the Champions League and then three Premier League games in a short time. Keep your spirits up and work hard. We are working hard every day."
