Coach Juric lost his job three times after just 12 months working in the Premier League and Serie A. |
On November 10, coach Juric - Gian Piero Gasperini's successor at Atalanta - was fired after a series of 7 winless matches in the Italian national championship, causing the Bergamo team to drop to 13th place.
In June, Mr. Juric succeeded his "old teacher" Gasperini with a contract until 2027. However, a series of 6 draws and 2 losses in the national championship made the Atalanta leadership lose patience. The 0-3 defeat to Sassuolo right at home at Gewiss Stadium ended the short term of the Croatian coach with 1.33 points/game. Raffaele Palladino was immediately appointed as his replacement.
This is the third time coach Juric has been fired in less than a year. Last November, AS Roma also fired this coach when he only brought home 14 points after the first 12 rounds of Serie A 2024/25. Two months earlier, AS Roma appointed Juric to replace Daniele De Rossi.
In December 2024, just weeks after leaving Roma, Juric signed an 18-month contract with Southampton. He was appointed to replace Russell Martin, but then managed just one Premier League win during his tenure.
That rare win came against Ipswich, who are also battling relegation. Since then, Southampton have only won two domestic cup games, along with seven defeats in eight.
This made Juric one of the worst-performing managers in Premier League history, averaging just 0.29 points per game, the lowest for a manager with 10 or more games in charge of a club. In April 2025, Southampton sacked Juric.
