In the final match of the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament yesterday afternoon (June 1), U16 Vietnam excellently came from behind to win 2-1 against U16 Saudi Arabia.
In the final match of the 2025 CFA Team China U16 International Tournament, host U16 China surprisingly won 5-2 against U16 Australia, thereby winning the championship.
This result also means that coach Cristiano Roland and his team finished in third place overall with 4 points (losing to Australia 1-2, drawing with China 2-2 and winning against Saudi Arabia 2-1).
Evaluating the recent journey, coach Cristiano Roland could not hide his emotions: “I am very proud and congratulate all the players. I understand the importance and the necessary requirements to prepare for each match.

From the first days of training to the matches at the tournament, all work is aimed at helping the children progress and develop, especially learning how to play modern football with high speed and intensity.
Three weeks is not a long time, but most of the kids have matured a lot, showing a serious attitude in training and competition."
Coach Cristiano Roland emphasized: “Each player carries within them the strength of the Vietnamese people. When that strength is maximized, no obstacle can defeat them.
Even though the opponent is stronger and the conditions are better, with Vietnamese qualities and spirit, you can still overcome. You have the right to be proud of that."
Meanwhile, VFF Deputy General Secretary and Head of Delegation Nguyen Minh Chau also praised the team's spirit of hard work, and conveyed VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan's compliments and congratulations to Coach Cristiano Roland, the coaching staff and the players who contributed three quality matches at the tournament.
Notably, except for two players who participated in the 2025 AFC U17 finals, Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc and Nguyen Van Duong, the remaining members of the team are playing for the first time in the international arena.
This is considered an important stepping stone towards the goal of the upcoming 2026 AFC U17 qualifiers. Vietnam U16 is expected to land at Noi Bai Airport ( Hanoi ) at 2:35 p.m. this afternoon (June 2).
