" I like dominant, attacking football, so I choose to watch teams that play that style. For example, I like watching Pep Guardiola or Tottenham's Postecoglu, who rose through the ranks of the J.League."
Regarding football, I think there are no limits, no single way of watching football worldwide . I watch from every league to learn ," said the new head coach of Hanoi FC, Daiki Iwamasa.
On the morning of January 13th, Hanoi FC held a press conference to introduce their new head coach, Daiki Iwamasa. Mr. Dinh The Nam parted ways with the capital city team after two months.
Coach Daiki Iwamasa took over the Hanoi team from round 9.
Daiki Iwamasa is the fourth head coach of Hanoi FC this season. After dismissing coach Bozidar Bandovic, the capital city team appointed two interim coaches, Le Duc Tuan and Dinh The Nam. Tuan is part of the team's coaching staff, while Nam is the Director of the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center.
The coach said: " In December, when my contract with Kashima Antlers ended, I learned that Hanoi FC was interested in me and had contacted me. Therefore, I watched Hanoi FC's matches, and I'm confident that I have a relatively good understanding of their players. There will certainly be pressure, but that's normal. I've been involved in football for 20 years; it's part of my daily life ."
Coach Daiki Iwamasa won three consecutive J.League 1 championships from 2007 to 2009, and was named to the Team of the Season in all three seasons. In addition, he won the Emperor's Cup in 2007 and 2010, and the J.League Cup in 2011 and 2012.
In 2017, Daiki Iwamasa served as both coach and player for Tokyo FC. Five years later, he returned to Kashima Antlers as an assistant coach to Rene Weiler. In August 2022, Iwamasa became the team's head coach. In the past two seasons, Kashima Antlers have finished in the top 5 of J.League 1.
Hanoi FC's form is improving after a period of instability at the beginning of the season. However, the capital city team's performance in the V.League is not good enough, ranking only 8th after the first 8 rounds. Therefore, the club's management has decided to look for a new coach and is once again targeting a foreign expert for this position.
