Support Vietnamese businesses to export and promote tourism to the Halal market

(Chinhphu.vn) - The National Halal Certification Center (HALCERT), the Conformity Certification Center (QUACERT) - the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality (Ministry of Science and Technology) and MHGROUP Corporation have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to support training, consulting on Halal knowledge and promoting trade and tourism between Vietnam and the Halal market.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of MHGROUP Corporation Nguyen Thi Minh Hang and Acting Director of QUACERT Center Nguyen Tuan Anh and Director of HALCERT Center Ramlan Bin Osman.

This MOU was signed in the context of Vietnam promoting the development of the Halal industry. In 2023, the Prime Minister issued a Decision approving the Project "Strengthening international cooperation to build and develop Vietnam's Halal industry by 2030", with specific directions, goals and implementation solutions. In addition, the HALCERT Center was established, and national Halal regulations and standards were completed to support businesses exporting to the Muslim market.

The global Halal market is forecast to reach $10 trillion by 2030, with the Muslim population estimated to reach nearly 3 billion by 2050 – equivalent to 30% of the world's population.

QUACERT Certification is a type of certification issued by QUACERT Center, confirming that an organization's products, services or management systems meet international or national standards for quality, safety and efficiency. In which, Halal Certification is one of the current certifications of QUACERT Center.

MHGROUP Corporation, with its role and function, will promote training support and bilateral trade promotion between Vietnam and the Halal market, especially in Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Iran, etc.

Specifically, according to the Memorandum of Understanding, MHGROUP will coordinate with QUACERT Center and HALCERT Center to develop a training plan and guide Vietnamese enterprises on the necessary steps to obtain Halal Certification. At the same time, MHGROUP will support Vietnamese enterprises wishing to promote trade in the Halal market after obtaining Halal Certification.

MHGROUP supports the promotion and communication of the image of the QUACERT Center and HALCERT Center in Vietnam as well as promoting trade, communication, and promotion of Halal products and services so that Vietnamese businesses have more information and learn about opportunities to export goods to Muslim markets.
