Following the success of the concert program “The first sounds of love” special edition celebrating the 1st anniversary of the establishment of Ho Guom Theater in July 2024, “Happiness Concert” will have the participation of 120 Vietnamese artists from the VNAMYO Youth Symphony Orchestra.
The program features the participation of Violinist, People's Artist Bui Cong Duy; conductor Tran Nhat Minh; and world- famous soloists and singers such as soprano of the Belarusian Opera House Claudia Potemkina, Italian tenor Manuel Amati and Vietnam's leading opera singer Dao To Loan.
“Happiness Concert” brings to the audience 20 classic songs from historical films around the world, famous arias from operas, musicals or Christmas and New Year songs...
One of the most notable is “La Danza” – one of the outstanding works in the collection “Les soirées musicales” by composer Gioachino Rossini. Written in the style of tarantella, a lively folk dance of Southern Italy, this work is full of energy, joy and charm from the first notes.
In addition, the program also features the sweet and romantic melody of a romanza such as “Musica Proibita” (Stanislao Gastaldon), or “Meine Lippen, sie küssen so heiß” from the opera “Giuditta” (Franz Lehar), the march “Radetzky March” (Johann Strauss I)...
During the program, the audience will be immersed in the space of classic film soundtracks. These include “He's a Pirate” - the energetic and vibrant theme song from the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean”; “Music of the Night” - one of the outstanding and enchanting songs in the legendary musical “The Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Joining in the Christmas and New Year atmosphere, the program also brings familiar and bustling songs such as "O Holy Night", "Silent Night" (Stille Nacht)...
The concert also featured a special soundtrack from the documentary “Vietnam” written by Gara Garayev - one of the most prominent representatives of Azerbaijan, who was a composition student of D. Shostakovich.
“Vietnam” is the first Vietnam-Soviet Union documentary film since 1954. The music in the film is rich in melody and uses Vietnamese folk materials, combined with Western symphonic writing techniques, creating an interesting and impressive feature, from which the author re-arranged it into a suite to be performed exclusively for a symphony orchestra.
