That is the case of male patient NVP, 34 years old, who had a work accident falling from a height while working in Taiwan more than a month ago.
After the accident, the patient was transferred to a hospital in Taiwan for treatment, then returned to Vietnam and arrived at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital on January 11.
MSc. Dr. Nguyen Duy Khanh - Andrology Center, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital said: The patient was admitted to the hospital in a state of septic shock, rapid pulse, low blood pressure, and inflammation spreading throughout the perineum to the groin and abdomen.

X-ray film showed the patient had a fracture of the L1 spine, multiple perineal abscesses, prostate abscess, and right eye infection.
Doctors performed emergency surgery to drain the abscess and bladder, and performed intensive care for 3 weeks. The patient arrived late at the hospital, and severe complications could lead to multiple organ failure: rapid pulse, low blood pressure, oliguria... or septic shock, which could even lead to death.
After 3 weeks of intensive care, the patient's endotracheal tube was removed, he was breathing on his own, and his infection was stable. The patient was transferred to the eye hospital for further treatment.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang - Director of the Andrology Center, President of the Vietnam Association of Gender Medicine: Men are 10 times more likely to suffer from disseminated inflammatory syndrome than women.
Risk factors include diabetes, alcoholism, cardiovascular disease, HIV, high blood pressure, and kidney failure.
When there are lesions in the genital area, inflammation, the patient should see a doctor early to avoid causing unfortunate consequences because bacteria can enter the blood at any time, causing sepsis and a very high mortality rate.
