On June 3, the Central Highlands General Hospital announced that it was treating three cases of mushroom poisoning of unknown type, including Mr. YSÊ. (36 years old), Ms. YTBD (27 years old) and her nephew YLS (17 years old), all residing in Jun village, Lien Son town, Lak district, Dak Lak province.
All three were hospitalized with abdominal pain, vomiting, and dizziness. According to Dr. Huynh Thi Doan Dung, deputy head of the intensive care and anti-poison department, one patient suffered liver and kidney damage and is being monitored and treated intensively.
Before that, at around 6:00 p.m. on June 2, Mr. YSÊ's family organized a hot pot meal, which included mushrooms picked from the fields.
After eating, 7 people showed signs of poisoning and were taken to Lak District Medical Center for emergency treatment. Due to serious conditions, 3 of them were transferred to a higher level.
At the same time, the hospital also received another case of mushroom poisoning, Mr. LVM (residing in Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province) with similar symptoms.
