Completed land inventory for the Western North-South Expressway project

According to the 90-day and night plan to implement the work of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement of the North-South Expressway Project, West section, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Nha Bich commune has focused all resources, promptly removed difficulties and obstacles and proactively coordinated with relevant units to speed up the progress of site clearance.

Since October 8, Nha Bich commune has counted 265/265 land plots with an area of 78.6 ha/78.6 ha, reaching 100%, and at the same time coordinated to confirm the origin and assets on land for 218/265 land plots with an area of 675,923.8 m², reaching 86%. The locality also mobilized people to hand over clean land for 65/265 land plots with an area of 28/92.9 ha, reaching 30%.

Nha Bich Commune Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Trung Dung said that with the current progress, Nha Bich will be ready to hand over the site according to the 90-day and night plan to carry out the work of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement of the North-South Expressway Project, West section, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway has a total length of about 124.13km (the section through Lam Dong province is about 23.1km long, the section through Dong Nai province is about 101.03km long). According to Resolution No. 138/2024/QH15 dated June 28, 2024 of the National Assembly on the investment policy of the North - South Expressway Construction Investment Project, the western section of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh, the route has a scale of 6 lanes in the completed phase, with a roadbed width of 32.25m, a design speed of 120km/h. In the investment phase, the project is invested with a scale of 4 complete expressway lanes, a road surface width of 24.75m. The total investment is over 25,800 billion VND.

Previously, on August 19, in Nha Bich commune, Dong Nai province, the groundbreaking ceremony of Component 1 of the North-South Expressway, West section, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh, took place. This is one of 8 key projects selected by Dong Nai province to start construction and inaugurate on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Component 1 project, investment in construction of the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, is of special importance, not only for Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces but also for the entire Central Highlands and Southeast regions. This expressway will act as a strategic connection axis, ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands region, as well as closely linking with Ho Chi Minh City - the most dynamic economic center in the country.

Once completed, this expressway will connect with the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, connecting to Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City, creating a driving force for the development of the Central Highlands and Southeast regions, expanding urban and industrial space. This project also contributes to realizing the goal of 5,000km of expressway set by the Party and Government in the period of 2021 - 2030.
