According to Decision No. 1894/QD-BVHTTDL dated July 14, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism approved the Project "Some models for developing night tourism products", piloted in 12 (old) localities including: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam , Hue, Da Nang, Lam Dong, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The implementation of the project contributes to creating a premise for the development of night economic activities, diversifying tourism products, and enhancing the image of destinations.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , the implementation of pilot night tourism product development models in localities has initially achieved positive results, creating new and attractive experiences, enhancing tourists' experience of night tourism products, promoting night-time economic growth, and increasing service revenue from tourism.

Dr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, shared: “Entering the 2026 - 2030 period, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will continue to closely coordinate with localities and businesses to replicate the model in both breadth and depth, improving the quality and sustainability of night tourism products.”

Mr. Nguyen Lam Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh said: “Night tourism products not only meet the entertainment needs of tourists but also create opportunities for learning and exploring local culture. The tourism industry of Quang Ninh province is growing quite strongly and has clear investment, strongly promoting night tourism products such as night streets, night cruises, night markets, night art performances. The introduction of the product "night cruise street", opening a night walking street, selecting a pilot area... shows that night tourism products are moving to the stage of practical implementation, not just stopping at the idea".

The Vietnam National Tourism Administration said that it will propose to improve institutions and develop specific policies for night tourism development, in order to create a clear legal corridor, encourage creativity, ensure security, order and a safe tourism environment. The Administration will focus on building and replicating night tourism models in major tourist centers, prioritizing resources to support localities with the potential to develop suitable models.

Along with that, the tourism industry will diversify products, linking night tourism activities with culture, cuisine, festivals, art, light technology, creative industries, music, fashion and cinema - to create unique, attractive experiences with high brand value. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will also promote the application of digital transformation and smart technology in the management, promotion and operation of night tourism activities; strengthen links between industries, build a pilot model for smooth operation before expanding to other areas.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism believes that Vietnam's night tourism will become a unique, attractive product with its own brand, one of the key products of the tourism industry, contributing to the successful implementation of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
