The An Luong embankment in Duy Nghia commune is more than 1 kilometer long, protecting the residential area of more than 200 households, and is also a route for buying and selling aquatic products for local people. During the historic flood at the end of October, the floodwaters on the Thu Bon River, along with strong high tides, destroyed this embankment. The embankment was cracked, gouged into a "frog's jaw", large pieces of concrete were collapsed and washed away to the sea. Thousands of local people, functional forces and armed forces have continuously built sandbags day and night to limit landslides and protect the embankment. However, the An Luong embankment has been severely damaged, and needs to be rebuilt firmly and solidly to continue to become a "wave shield" to protect the An Luong fishing village.

The beach at Tan Thanh block (Hoi An Tay ward) is a sandy beach stretching hundreds of meters, a famous tourist destination of Quang Nam province (old). However, since 2013, due to the impact of low pressure and heavy rain, storms have caused high waves, "swallowing" hundreds of cubic meters of coastal sand, causing insecurity for many households and shops along the coast.

Since the end of 2024, the encroachment of sea waves has become more and more intense as large waves combined with strong winds have continuously encroached deeper into the mainland. The People's Committee of Hoi An Tay Ward has organized the installation of signs, stretched warning ropes, and delimited dangerous areas in areas with landslides and risks of landslides on the coast. The authorities and local people have implemented immediate solutions such as building sandbags and driving bamboo stakes to protect the coast, but they have not been effective. The People's Committee of Hoi An Tay Ward has proposed that Da Nang City soon implement a plan to build breakwaters and retain sand to ensure long-term safety for this area...
