In preparation for the peak tourist season on the occasion of National Day September 2, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has developed a plan to organize a series of new programs and products to stimulate demand and attract domestic and foreign tourists to the capital.
From July 2025, many new tourism products will be introduced, notably the group of experience tours associated with heritage-relics at Ha Mo tourist site (O Dien commune); the tourist route "South Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Road"; the community tourism model in My Duc commune, helping tourists learn about the traditional culture of ethnic minorities; rural agricultural tourism in Tich Loc commune.
In particular, Hanoi has launched a group of 20 night tourism products - a trend that many tourists are interested in. Among them, the program "Tran Vu Bell" at Quan Thanh Temple brings a unique experience with the spiritual and cultural space of Hanoi at night, combining sound, light and traditional art performances.
In addition, creative spaces such as "Truc Bach Subsidized Street", "Train No. 6 - Leng keng di het" or the tour to explore the Dao traditional medicine village in Mien village, Ba Vi commune also create new highlights.
Hanoi is also promoting regional connectivity through river tourism routes connecting with Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong. These itineraries not only expand the experience space but also exploit infrastructure advantages, creating unique tourism corridors, in line with the trend of personalizing the journey of young tourists.
Data from booking platform Agoda shows that Hanoi is leading the travel trend during the National Day holiday with accommodation searches increasing more than 44 times compared to the same period in 2024.
Many hotels in the central area were fully booked from August 30 to September 3. To meet demand, high-end hotels in Hanoi are implementing many promotional programs and reducing room rates to stimulate consumption.
According to some travel companies, tours related to Hanoi, especially those participating in military parades and exploring nearby destinations, account for about 30-40% of total domestic tourism products this time.
In the 2022-2024 period, Hanoi recorded impressive growth during the September 2 holiday with an average increase of 28.3% per year in the number of visitors, of which international visitors increased by 62.5% per year. Total revenue from tourism increased by 31.6% per year, affirming the capital's position as an attractive, safe and culturally rich destination.
In 2025, Hanoi's tourism industry aims to attract over 30 million visitors, an increase of 11.1% compared to 2024; of which, welcoming 7 million international tourists, an increase of 27.3% and 23 million domestic tourists, an increase of 7%.
Autumn and winter are the “golden seasons” for tourism in the capital city in welcoming international visitors. To do this, Hanoi needs to develop new products and promote tourism./.
