Focus on investing in developing transport infrastructure

Currently, the Department of Construction of Vinh Phuc province is implementing advisory tasks for the Provincial People's Committee and coordinating with relevant sectors to review and supplement the planning, focusing on investing in key routes and main axes connecting with neighboring provinces.

Signed an agreement with the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province on the implementation of investment projects to build National Highway 2C, 2D and other routes connecting Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang provinces; implementing the investment project to build the Ring Road 5 of the Hanoi Capital Region, the section passing through the province to connect Vinh Phuc with Thai Nguyen.

The locality also prioritizes investment resources to implement many large, key transport projects that are important to socio -economic development such as: Ring Road 3, Huong Canh - Yen Lac section; Ring Road 2 of Vinh Yen city; road from the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway interchange (Van Quan commune area) to the center of Song Lo district and the branch line to Song Lo I Industrial Park.

Strengthening regional connectivity, creating development momentum

During the 2020 - 2025 term, Vinh Phuc has completed and put into use two bridges, not only meeting the travel needs of people but also creating a breakthrough in trade and socio-economic development. Vinh Phu Bridge across the Lo River, connecting Vinh Phuc with Phu Tho, was opened to traffic in late August 2023. The railway overpass on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Vinh Yen City, inaugurated in early 2025, has helped solve the long-standing traffic congestion at the intersection between Hanoi - Lao Cai Railway and Nguyen Tat Thanh Street. These projects not only improve traffic infrastructure but also create architectural highlights, contributing to enhancing urban aesthetics.

In addition, the project to renovate and expand National Highway 2, Vinh Yen - Viet Tri section (implemented by the Ministry of Transport in the area), with a total investment of more than 1,258 billion VND, a route length of about 11km, a scale of 4 - 6 lanes according to TCVN 4054:2005, a design speed of 80 km/h, is also in the process of implementation.

The project to expand National Highway 2, Vinh Yen - Viet Tri section, when put into use, will continue to help the locality complete the national highway system according to the road network development plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister; create a unified traffic network in the Northern midland and mountainous region with the provinces of the Hanoi capital region and support socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the region.

According to the Planning of Vinh Phuc province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, in the coming period, Vinh Phuc will continue to promote the development of a foreign transport network, inter-regional connectivity, creating a driving force for spreading socio-economic development, tourism and services.
