Hoang Hen reunites with Xuan Son

Midfielder Do Hoang Hen (Hendrio) had the opportunity to meet striker Nguyen Xuan Son and his old teammates in Nam Dinh when he and Hanoi visited Thien Truong Stadium in round 11 of V.League 2025/26 on the afternoon of November 10.

When the final whistle blew at Thien Truong Stadium, midfielder Do Hoang Hen quietly walked towards the home team's cabin. He took the initiative to greet the Nam Dinh coaching staff and shook hands with his former teammates.

Hoang Hen stopped for a long time to chat with Xuan Son – a close friend who had been with him during the best time of the Nam football team. The meeting was short but filled with emotions, as the two now stood on two different fronts.

In this match, coach Harry Kewell gave Hoang Hen the chance to start from the beginning. However, the naturalized midfielder could not make much difference in the tight game and was withdrawn in the 74th minute. Against his old team, Hoang Hen still showed a strong fighting spirit, but his decisive moves were not sharp enough to help Hanoi win. The match ended with a score of 1-1.

Meanwhile, Xuan Son has fully recovered from his injury but has not been able to play. He was not on Nam Dinh's roster for the first leg, so he can only wait until the second leg. Both Son and Hen were a good pair in Nam Dinh's attack, contributing greatly to helping the team win the 2023/24 V.League championship.

After this draw, Xuan Son will soon join the Vietnam team to prepare for the match against Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, Hoang Hen continues to train with Hanoi, waiting for the day when he is eligible to wear the national team jersey according to FIFA regulations.
