It is necessary to design appropriate programs so as not to "increase the load" on students.
Regarding the policy of organizing free teaching 2 sessions/day at primary and secondary schools from the next school year, Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Principal of Thai Thinh Secondary School (Hanoi) said that if this is implemented well, it will bring about a comprehensiveeducation , students will be trained in knowledge and skills in the direction of capacity development.
“When teaching two sessions, schools will have more time to organize activities to develop physical fitness and enhance students' artistic and musical abilities,” he said.
However, he also said that not all schools in Hanoi currently have enough classrooms. To overcome this situation, the school plans to have students study 2 alternating sessions per day.

Regarding the program design, according to Mr. Cuong, it needs to be appropriate so as not to “overload” students. In addition, the study time for each session must be recalculated so as not to make students tired and pressured when studying all day.
Regarding the lack of teachers, this principal said, "If we can do as General Secretary To Lam suggested about inviting good singers and artists to teach and have contracts, that would be great."
“Thus, the orientation is to study culture in the morning, and skills and talent subjects in the afternoon. The most difficult thing for schools is probably inviting experts. If the State mechanism supports this, it will be very convenient.
Artists and athletes can be invited to teach at a cluster of schools in the area, with funding from the State budget. This way, students can have access to talented athletes and famous singers, thereby being inspired and developing comprehensively," said Mr. Cuong.
Sharing the same view, the principal of a secondary school in Ha Dong said that when studying 2 sessions/day, students will have the opportunity to develop more comprehensively, limiting the situation of extra teaching and learning. However, the most worrying thing for schools is still inadequate facilities and teachers being overloaded due to the increased workload.
“Schools must also invest more heavily in multi-purpose halls, laboratories, and building clubs to develop knowledge and skills. To do this effectively, the curriculum must also be updated, developed independently, and not duplicated,” he said.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Vice Principal of the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), switching to two sessions per day will create conditions for students to have more time for experiential educational activities, connecting, sharing, practicing life skills, and skills of the digital age.
This policy is very consistent with the spirit of Circular 29, reducing the pressure of extra classes, contributing to saving costs for families, while students are still managed by the school, avoiding participating in classes that do not ensure quality.
However, Mr. Nam said that the Ministry of Education and Training needs to have guidelines to avoid studying 2 sessions/day, which increases learning pressure for students.
Singers and artists are ready to accompany the school
In response to the General Secretary's suggestion of inviting talented singers, musicians, athletes or painters to teach drawing, music and sports, many people consider this a way to help students develop their talents and overcome the current shortage of talented teachers.

According to Meritorious Artist Khanh Hoa, currently students are learning cultural subjects that are "too heavy and stressful", while literature, sports, and art also need to be balanced, helping to improve physical fitness and nurture the soul.
“Meeting artists and athletes in person will help students spread positive energy, thereby inspiring them, which is different from lessons in books. If I have the opportunity to contribute to the teaching process, I believe that I, like many other artists, will consider it a responsibility to the community,” said Meritorious Artist Khanh Hoa.
Meritorious Artist Khanh Hoa also suggested that schools could arrange 2 lessons/week for a gifted subject so that students have the opportunity to learn about the types of subjects that suit their abilities and strengths.
Having had the opportunity to interact with students from schools across the country about the art of Xam singing, artist Ha Myo - the first person to combine Xam with rap and EDM electronic music, a typical young Vietnamese face in 2022 said that the general reaction of the students was very curious and eager.
According to artist Ha Myo, if students have more opportunities to meet and experience professional musicians, they will love art more.
“If given the opportunity, I am willing to sacrifice material interests to accompany schools in bringing knowledge about traditional music to students,” said artist Ha Myo.
