A tradition with strong roots helps protect the country from many threats in turbulent times and creates trust in the eyes of international friends about Vietnam as a resilient, indomitable, hard-working and creative country. This is the opinion of Dr. Abed Akbari, Director of the Tehran Institute for Foreign Policy Studies (Iran), in an article about the "bamboo diplomacy of Vietnam" school published in the Iran Daily, a large and prestigious newspaper of the Iranian Government. According to the VNA correspondent in the Middle East and North Africa, Dr. Akbari affirmed that the speech of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Foreign Affairs Conference to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam held in December 2021 on building and developing modern Vietnamese diplomacy includes many orientations and instructions that are both scientific and practical for foreign affairs activities. Director of the Tehran Institute for Foreign Policy Studies commented: "Vietnam uses the concept of 'Bamboo Diplomacy' as a metaphor for resilience but also for flexibility and adaptability in foreign policy. Vietnam uses national identity to promote global status, progress and sustainable development, build influence in the region and increasingly participate actively in global relations". Assessing Vietnam's foreign policy, Dr. Akbari said that the comprehensive combination of national strength factors, including identity, politics, and economics, along with the diplomatic motto of focusing on the nation and people to promote international cooperation, shows a mindset imbued with realism in foreign policy approaches. The overall strategy of the "bamboo diplomacy" school is to build the country, improve defense capacity, enhance will and determination as well as create momentum for the entire political system.

According to expert Akbari, President Ho Chi Minh was the one who laid the foundation for Vietnam's "bamboo diplomacy" school and directly led and directed the building and development of Vietnam's revolutionary diplomacy. The basic elements of Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic thought, drawn from the philosophy and tradition of diplomacy in history, are smoothly combined with patriotism and national cultural identity. Vietnam's current policy reflects a principle that has been very successful, which is national consensus on the chosen direction. The pillars of consensus in Vietnam's foreign policy include independence, autonomy, peace, friendship, cooperation, development, diversification, multilateralization of relations with partners and international organizations, and being an active and responsible member of the international community.

At the end of the article, author Akbari affirmed that the foreign policy that Vietnam has chosen is very clear and respectable, and that countries around the world should refer to Vietnam's lessons.
