On the occasion of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh leading the Vietnamese delegation to attend the 16th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2025, also known as the "Summer Davos Forum", held in Tianjin City (China), Professor, Dr. Cheng Hanping, Executive Director of the Institute of Regional and National Studies and Director of the Vietnam Research Center at Zhejiang University of Industry, China, shared his appreciation for the significance of the working trip.

This is the third time the Vietnamese Prime Minister has attended this annual conference. He is also one of the few senior government officials to attend this event.

Professor Thanh Han Binh commented that this is a very rare and precious thing. Citing a Chinese saying: "When a neighbor has good news, the neighbor will come to congratulate them", this scholar said that the business trip shows a message of harmony and friendship.

Firstly , this working trip and participation in WEF Tianjin 2025 continues the tradition of high-level meetings and exchanges between the two countries, reflecting the importance of the two Parties and two countries to the Vietnam - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, and the determination to promote the Vietnam - China relationship to develop more sustainably, stably and substantially.

Second, this marks the bilateral relationship continuously reaching new heights, especially in the context of regional and global economic recession and the complicated context of global tariff tensions, demonstrating Vietnam's persistent adherence to multilateralism.

Finally, through this activity attracting a large number of Government leaders as well as leading businesses in the region and internationally, the Vietnamese Government has shown its high regard for the country's economic development, demonstrating the Communist Party of Vietnam's philosophy of governing for the people.

On the other hand, Professor Thanh Han Binh pointed out that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip is another high-level interaction between China and Vietnam after President Xi Jinping's recent visit to Vietnam. This year also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange, which can be said to be a double joy, showing that cooperation between China and Vietnam is always on the path of rapid development.

"This means that the strategic trust between China and Vietnam has reached an unprecedented level. Only mutually beneficial cooperation can bring real benefits to the two countries and the people of the two countries," Professor Thanh Han Binh emphasized.

At the same time, as countries that support globalization and multilateralism, China and Vietnam have extensive cooperation in many areas such as digital economy and green economy, and have many highlights.

Among them, the Hanoi Elevated Railway No. 2 project is a typical example, aiming to reduce carbon emissions in the transportation sector. In addition, the construction of the China-Vietnam cross-border railway not only promotes trade but also creates a reference model for developing countries in seeking a path of sustainable development.

Finally, Professor Thanh Han Binh expressed his belief that the “6 mores”, the principles proposed by the leaders of the two countries to guide the healthy development of bilateral relations, will be effectively implemented.

Commenting on the theme of this year's annual conference, Executive Director of the Institute of National and Regional Studies at Zhejiang University of Industry said: "Entrepreneurship in the New Era shows that in the context of global tariff wars and global uncertainties, all parties need to work together to cope with the current uncertainties through cooperation. This requires the business community and entrepreneurs to shoulder responsibilities and jointly respond to the severe challenges."

According to Chinese scholars, this year's annual conference has more than 1,700 guests from about 90 countries registered to attend, showing that in the context of increasing unilateralism in the world, there are still many countries supporting multilateralism, globalization and China's three major initiatives...
