Strive for the highest achievement.
Ms. Lam Thi Sang, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province, said that the education sector is creating all conditions for high schools to complete their tasks for the 2023-2024 school year. This includes allocating at least 8 weeks for 12th-grade students to review their knowledge, practice their test-taking skills, and create the best foundation for them to confidently enter the 2024 high school graduation exam.
Following the directives of the Department of Education and Training, high schools, vocational training and continuing education centers in districts and towns, and the Provincial Continuing Education and Vocational Training Center have also developed review plans, depending on the actual conditions regarding facilities and teaching staff of their respective units.
At Tan Phong High School (Tan Phong commune, Gia Rai town), starting in early March 2024, the school developed and issued a plan for reviewing and preparing for the 2024 high school graduation exam. The goal of the plan is to help subject departments, teachers, and 12th-grade students develop review plans that meet the requirements of the new high school graduation exam and university/college entrance exams in 2024.
Over a period of more than two months, the school organized review sessions to help students prepare their knowledge and skills for the 2024 National High School Graduation Examination. During this time, the school also reviewed and adjusted the content, methods, and organization of teaching and learning to help maintain the school's achievements in the National High School Graduation Examination, especially to improve the quality of students applying to universities and colleges in 2024. The organizational method involved the school's management board directing subject departments and teachers to base their review content and methods on the sample and official exam papers of the 2023 National High School Graduation Examination from the Ministry of Education and Training. This included strengthening the proactive planning and organization of exam preparation by subject departments, teachers, and students within the school.
Mr. Tran Van Chung, Principal of Tan Phong High School, said: "The most important thing during the review and practice process, and through the mock exams organized by the Department of Education and Training, is to build confidence and self-discipline in learning among students to meet the requirements of the 2024 National High School Graduation Examination."

To support students in effective exam preparation, many schools have implemented specific and practical solutions. Specifically, schools have strengthened their management and guidance of exam preparation, such as: School principals regularly check and monitor students' exam preparation progress daily; assigning homeroom teachers and subject teachers to directly manage and guide students' revision; and instructing homeroom teachers to regularly inform families about students' exam preparation and coordinate with families in managing and motivating students.
To improve the quality of teaching, schools have been focusing on organizing practice exams for students to help them become familiar with the exam format of the Ministry of Education and Training and to broaden their knowledge. This allows for the timely identification and correction of knowledge gaps. Along with this, effective and active teaching methods are being used, combining direct and indirect methods appropriately. In addition to practice exams at school, the school also directs subject teachers to regularly assign practice exams for students to do at home to hone their test-taking skills.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Dieu - Vice Principal of Tan Phong High School - shared: “In order to help students get used to the exam atmosphere, master test-taking techniques and review their knowledge, in addition to the 3 mock exams organized by the Department of Education and Training, this June the school also organized the 4th mock exam for 12th-grade students in 2024 to assess the quality of their exam preparation before participating in the official exam.”
During this crucial period, in addition to focusing on professional work, schools are also paying attention to students' study conditions and health through solutions such as: providing students with sufficient study materials and practice questions; creating a comfortable learning environment for students without pressure; homeroom teachers and subject teachers regularly providing psychological counseling to help students relieve stress and anxiety; and regularly reminding students to eat a balanced, nutritious diet, get adequate sleep, and participate in physical activities and sports to improve their health.
In addition, schools are strengthening coordination with students' families, regularly providing information about their exam preparation progress; and collaborating with families in managing and motivating students.
