Báo Quốc TếBáo Quốc Tế22/08/2024

Hanoi students are expected to return to school on August 29, with the first graders returning a week earlier, with the opening ceremony taking place on September 5.

To date, more than 50 provinces and cities have announced the framework for the new school year and announced the school opening schedule. Similar to previous years, most localities will welcome first graders from August 22, some will move it up three days because August 19 is the first day of the week; the remaining grades will start on August 29. Some localities, depending on their specific circumstances, may organize the school opening earlier.

To prepare for the new school year, the Ministry of Education and Training has asked provinces and cities to ensure facilities and teachers, especially for subjects such as English, Information Technology, Music, and Fine Arts; publicly disclose revenues and expenditures at the beginning of the school year; and organize a concise opening ceremony.

Many localities have announced tuition fees for the new school year, ranging from 8,000 to 220,000 VND per month. Some provinces and cities such as Da Nang, Hai Phong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau exempt tuition fees, Long An reduces 50% for children under 5 years old, and exempts secondary school tuition fees.
