On May 7, a leader of the People's Committee of Phuoc Hung commune (Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh province) confirmed that the incident of an 8th grade male student in the commune being assaulted by a teenager occurred on May 5.
"The commune police are coordinating with Phuoc Hung Secondary School to verify and investigate the above incident," he said.

Mr. Pham Dinh Phuc, Vice Principal in charge of Phuoc Hung Secondary School (Phuoc Hung Commune), said that the male student who was beaten was L.D.K., a student in class 8A4 of the school.
"The school has grasped the information and coordinated with relevant authorities to work with the families of the students involved to clarify the incident. The police are still working so there are no specific results yet," said Mr. Phuc.
Initially, the authorities identified the teenager who beat K. as CDH (15 years old, from Phuoc Hung commune, has dropped out of school).
Previously, on the evening of May 6, a video was circulated on Facebook recording the image of a male student being beaten by a teenager in a coffee shop in Phuoc Hung commune, Tuy Phuoc district.
After being beaten, K. hid the news from her family. However, later, because she could not bear the headache, she told the whole story of the beating. Her family took her to An Nhon Town Medical Center for monitoring and treatment.
According to the leader of An Nhon Town Medical Center, L.D.K. was admitted to the hospital at 9:45 a.m. on May 6, diagnosed with head trauma, some swelling and bruising on the face, and is being monitored by doctors.
This is the fourth violent incident involving secondary school students in Binh Dinh province in the past two months, causing public outrage due to the brutal and hooligan acts.
Previously, Dan Tri reported that from March 23 to April 16, in Binh Dinh province, there were 3 cases of female middle school students being beaten in An Nhon town and Phu Cat district.
