On the afternoon of June 2, after candidates arrived to complete the exam procedures and listen to the regulations for entering grade 10 of high school for the 2025-2026 school year at the examination council in Thanh Hoa City, many candidates and parents were surprised and worried when many exam rooms did not have wall clocks.

During the review process, teachers also guide the skills of dividing time for each question and each part of the test to achieve the best score.

Meanwhile, at the examination councils, some rooms have clocks, some rooms do not have wall clocks; many students do not have clocks or do not have the habit of looking at their wristwatches...
A foreign language teacher in Hoang Hoa district shared that last year, I had a student who failed the 10th grade entrance exam. This student had quite good ability, one of the reasons that made him sad and troubled for a while was because there was no clock in the exam room, making it impossible for him to calculate the scoring questions in the exam appropriately.
Regarding the arrangement of wall clocks in the examination room, Mr. Ta Hong Luu, Deputy Director in charge of the Department ofEducation and Training of Thanh Hoa said: The general rule is that all clocks are hung in the control room and should not be placed in examination rooms as the clocks are prone to breakage or running incorrectly, leading to time differences... Therefore, the examination councils do not have clocks. Candidates are allowed to bring mechanical or battery-powered watches but they do not have a communication function.
However, according to records, in the exam rooms, some exam rooms have clocks, some rooms do not.
In the 2025-2026 high school entrance exam, Thanh Hoa province has 43,578 candidates registered to take the exam at 91 exam sites with a total of 1,817 exam rooms. Of which, Lam Son Specialized High School (Thanh Hoa City) and Nguyen Thi Loi High School (Sam Son City) each have 2 exam councils. The new point of this year's exam is that the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training will organize the entrance exam for grade 10 public high schools together with the entrance exam for grade 10 Lam Son Specialized High School and the entrance exam for grade 10 boarding high schools for ethnic minorities. According to the exam schedule, on June 3, in the morning, candidates will take the Literature exam (120 minutes), in the afternoon, they will take the English exam (60 minutes); on June 4, in the morning, candidates will take the Math exam (120 minutes), in the afternoon, they will take the specialized subjects exam (150 minutes).
