Vietnamese students won 6 Gold Medals at the Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad

NDO - The Vietnamese team with 6 students in grades 11 and 12 participating in the 2nd Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad achieved excellent results, winning 6 Gold Medals in the Competition.

On April 25, the Ministry of Education and Training officially announced the results of the Vietnamese delegation participating in the 2nd International Mathematical Olympiad for High School Students, Turkmenistan, held from April 21 to 26 in the capital Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The 6 Vietnamese students who participated and won Gold Medals are:

1. Nguyen Tri Hau, 11th grade student, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province, scored 40 points.

2. Nguyen Tri Hien, 11th grade student, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province, scored 40 points.

3. Nguyen Phuc Nguyen, 11th grade student, Newton Secondary and High School, Hanoi , scored 40 points.

4. Tran Quang Nhat, 12th grade student, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang city, scored 35 points.

5. Lai Gia Khai, 11th grade student, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education, scored 34 points.

6. Vu Viet Ha, 12th grade student, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Hai Duong province, scored 31 points.

The Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad is an international event organized by invitation, hosted by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The competition aims to nurture students' talents and abilities, strengthen friendship, develop progressive thinking and open-mindedness of young people.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has asked the Institute of Mathematics, under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, to establish a student delegation.

The Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology established a delegation of students to participate in the competition, including: Mr. Nguyen Chu Gia Vuong, Institute of Mathematics, Head of the delegation; Mr. Vu The Khoi, Institute of Mathematics, Deputy Head of the delegation and 6 students ranked from 7th to 12th in the Olympic Team Selection Exam. These students were not in the official lineup for the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad held in Australia. The delegation was established in the form of socialization.
