Military Medical Academy organizes Medical Skills Sports Festival 2025

The Medical Skills Competition is an annual extracurricular activity of the Military Medical Academy, helping military medical students practice and improve their communication skills, questioning, examining, and analytical thinking, and diagnostic reasoning. This is a meaningful activity in the training of future military medical doctors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the sports festival, Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Medical Academy, said: With the slogan "Solid knowledge - Proficient skills", this year's sports festival continues to affirm the determination of the Military Medical Academy in improving the quality of clinical training, helping students consolidate knowledge, practice professional skills and abilities in a practical, accurate and comprehensive manner.

Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Commissar of the Military Medical Academy, delivered the opening speech at the sports festival.

Over the past 17 years of organization, the Medical Skills Competition has become an annual academic playground where students can exchange, practice, and demonstrate their ability to approach patients, exploit symptoms, perform medical examinations, analyze tests, and make diagnoses - the fundamental skills of a physician.

According to the Deputy Commissar of the Military Medical Academy, the quality of clinical training of the Academy's students in recent years has had many positive changes. However, practice always requires doctors to not only master theory but also practice proficiently, confidently and accurately in each technique.

“The sports festival is an opportunity for students to self-assess their abilities and practice their professional style, and at the same time, it is an opportunity for faculties and departments to review their training effectiveness, thereby continuing to improve their teaching methods,” Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam emphasized.

The 2025 Medical Skills Competition has the participation of 6 teams, with meaningful names, demonstrating the learning and training spirit of the students: Knowledge Team; Skills Team; Proficiency Team; Precision Team; Steadfast Team; Essential Team.

Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam awarded Certificates of Merit to the teams participating in the sports festival.

The Deputy Commissar of the Military Medical Academy hopes that students will always try their best, considering this a valuable opportunity to study, improve their careers, and perfect their practical skills before entering a real medical examination and treatment environment.
