On the afternoon of July 16, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan had a working session with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society on receiving and implementing the project to support the construction of fishing boats for fishermen in Thang Binh district.
The Project to Support Fishing Boat Building for Fishermen in Thang Binh District is implemented by organizations including the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, the Vietnamese Embassy in Kuwait, and the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee.
Accordingly, the total project cost is 376,000 USD (more than 9.5 billion VND), the Kuwait Red Crescent Society sponsors 300 thousand USD (this is a non-refundable aid source). The project will build a new squid fishing boat with an engine capacity of 1,260 horsepower, contributing to creating jobs for about 50 crew members.
The Quang Nam Provincial Red Cross worked with the People's Committee of Thang Binh District to provide information about the project, guide the procedures and processes for receiving and implementing the project according to the Government's regulations. The Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee also agreed in principle on the counterpart fund of 76 thousand USD from the local budget to implement the project and assigned tasks to relevant parties.
