Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has an "extended arm" in gratitude work

On October 13, in Quang Ninh province, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs (VAFS) of Quang Ninh province held its first congress for the 2025-2030 term. Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, President of the Vietnam VAFS, expressed his hope that this would be a great driving force, helping the work of honoring martyrs at all levels of the association to go deeper and achieve practical results.

Speaking at the Congress, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, President of the Vietnam Association of Martyrs and Heroes, expressed his infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, building and defending the Fatherland; his gratitude for the noble sacrifices and losses of the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs and families of martyrs.

In order for the Association of Family and War Veterans of Quang Ninh province to operate effectively, practically and ensure compliance with current legal regulations, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung requested the Association of Family and War Veterans of Quang Ninh province to unite, join hands and contribute to building a strong and sustainable Association, truly an extension of the local Party Committee, government and people in activities to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

Along with that, all activities of the Association must comply with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the work of people with revolutionary contributions and the approved Charter of the Association. The Association needs to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Martyrs, authorities, agencies, unions at all levels, political and social organizations in the work of martyrs and their families to contribute to supporting Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, unions, relevant agencies and the entire population to do a good job of martyrs and their families.

The first Congress of the Quang Ninh Provincial Association of Family Law Students for the 2025-2030 term discussed and approved the Association's Charter and the Association's direction of activities for the 2025-2030 term.

Accordingly, the Association of Family and Friends of Quang Ninh province has the responsibility to coordinate with agencies, units and localities to carry out activities to honor and pay tribute to martyrs and martyrs' families in the province, support martyrs' families to implement the policies of the Party and the State; participate in collecting information by empirical methods and forensic methods to search for martyrs' remains. Along with that, participate in identifying martyrs' remains with missing information by DNA forensics; support relatives and families of martyrs who still have many difficulties in life, participate in giving opinions on issues related to martyrs and martyrs' families. The Association is also responsible for

Propose to the authorities solutions to implement policies for martyrs and their relatives in the province.

The Congress also elected the Executive Committee and the Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term. The Executive Committee consists of 15 members. Lieutenant Colonel Luu Xuan Khoa, former Commander of the Ha Long City Military Command and former Chairman of the Ha Long City Veterans Association, was elected Chairman of the Association.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Heroic Mothers presented gifts to 4 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, each worth 3 million VND, and presented gifts to 25 relatives of martyrs, each worth 1 million VND.

During the resistance wars against French colonialism, American imperialism and the war to protect the Fatherland, and to fulfill international obligations, more than 8,000 outstanding sons of Quang Ninh province fought and sacrificed for national independence and the happiness of the people; most of whom still lack information or have not been identified. Up to now, there are still many martyrs from Quang Ninh province whose graves are buried in martyr cemeteries nationwide, most of whom have partial information and whose graves are unknown. In particular, in Quang Ninh province, there are 21 martyr cemeteries, which are the resting places of 3,719 martyrs.
