Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association exhibits 420 art works in 2025

According to Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Xuan Tien, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, this year the number of works selected for display is the highest ever, with 420 paintings, statues, and ceramics by 361 authors. In addition to the works of authors who went to create in the field, the exhibition also displays works by many authors outside the association.

The works displayed in the exhibition were reviewed and evaluated by the Art Council for quality investment according to classification A, B, C with 37 works of members. In addition, the City Fine Arts Association also considered investment support for authors who have not yet become members to encourage creative work with 15 works that are typical in content and quality.

The exhibition displays 420 works by 361 authors.

According to Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien, the works in this year's exhibition are diverse in themes and materials. The artists express every aspect of life, including landscapes, homeland, country, and Vietnamese people. Many artists also express their thoughts on love, family, society, and life, bringing viewers into their own world of visual art through colors, shapes, and rhythms.

This is an important exhibition not only to introduce the works of the authors but also to be an opportunity for the Fine Arts Association and experts to re-evaluate the quality of the members' works after one year of operation.

According to artist Nguyen Trung Tin, Vice President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, in charge of the southern region, this year's exhibition recognizes the prominence of lacquer works with many large-sized works of good quality, thereby expressing the unique identity of the city's lacquer.

Many large format works of good quality are in this exhibition.

However, artist Nguyen Trung Tin frankly admitted that this year's exhibition is not superior to 2024 in terms of quality, lacking in-depth works, and lacking breakthrough works that leave a strong impression.

In particular, this exhibition shows the decline of oil paintings. This is something that the City Fine Arts Association needs to pay attention to.

The exhibition "Achievements of the Creative Camp and New Creation 2025" has the participation of many authors inside and outside the association, demonstrating the importance of the annual exhibition.

Through the exhibition, the authors convey the beautiful and meaningful things in life and love for their homeland and people into their works to spread humanity, truth, goodness and beauty to the city's audience.

The exhibition runs until November 1.
