Respond to the needs of union members
Vietnam Fortune Technology International Co., Ltd. (in Binh Phuoc Ward, Dong Nai Province) currently has 400 employees. In order to improve the quality of life and ensure the health of employees, especially in hot weather conditions, the company's leaders have decided to equip automatic ice makers in rest areas and outside the factory. The ice makers are equipped with large capacity, ensuring enough ice to serve the needs of refreshments, food preservation or on-site preparation. Investing in ice makers is part of the company's efforts to improve working conditions and care for employees.

According to Mr. Tran Van Hai, a company worker, in response to the frequent need for ice as a drink during breaks between shifts, the company has equipped a modern automatic ice maker, creating conditions for workers to use it comfortably at work.
“Since the company was equipped with an automatic ice maker, workers have been very excited because they have a source of clean ice to use, ensuring their health, instead of having to buy it from outside like before. I hope these practical models will continue to be expanded at the factory,” Mr. Hai shared.
At Elite Long Thanh Co., Ltd. (Loc An Industrial Park, Binh Son Commune), the Trade Union has promoted its role in negotiating with the business owner to implement many policies that benefit the workers. In particular, the mid-shift meal worth 28,000 VND/person has provided a nutritious meal, restoring the working capacity of the workers. This is one of the practical policies to improve the lives of workers in the context of increasing living costs.
From the specific, creative and practical models, it can be seen that taking care of union members' lives is not just a slogan but has become a regular action, bringing about clear results. This is also an important foundation for the Trade Union organization to develop more and more strongly, worthy of being a reliable support for workers.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Elite Long Thanh Co., Ltd., said: The company currently has 3,800 employees, this is the most valuable asset of the enterprise. Increasing the value of mid-shift meals is not only a material support but also shows the company's concern and sharing with employees, especially in difficult working conditions that require a lot of energy. Higher value mid-shift meals help workers replenish energy, maintain work performance and reduce the risk of work accidents due to fatigue.
According to Mr. Hung, the increase in meal value is highly appreciated by workers, thereby making them feel secure in contributing to increasing product value. The company also focuses on improving the menu, changing dishes that are beneficial to the health of workers. In addition to increasing the value of meals, the Trade Union negotiates many more contents that are beneficial to workers regarding jobs, income, wages, and bonuses in the collective labor agreement. This is also a policy to retain workers with the company during the current labor shortage.
Increase benefits for union members
In many units, the Trade Union has proactively signed contracts with partners to provide welfare and incentive programs for union members such as: discounted purchases, support for medical examination and treatment, travel and study at preferential prices... Some units with a large number of workers have established mutual support funds, union shelter funds, to support union members when they are sick, have accidents, are in especially difficult circumstances or have families and relatives affected by natural disasters and epidemics.
Some trade unions have performed well in their role as representatives in negotiating with employers to ensure the legitimate rights of workers. A typical example is the trade union of Elma Vietnam Industrial Company Limited (in Nhon Trach commune), where union officials have boldly negotiated with the business owner in meetings about welfare policies for workers and received support, bringing joy and trust to workers.

Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Elma Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd., Vo Thi Xuan Hang said: Currently, many policies that are beneficial to employees are implemented by the company such as: Employees are given one Saturday off per month; for new employees signing a contract in the first year, they are awarded 1 million VND and in the first 6 months, they are awarded 700,000 VND per month. Every month, the Trade Union and the company organize birthday parties for employees; at the same time, they award prizes to workers with outstanding achievements in the month. The above activities are responded to by employees and they increasingly trust the company, and feel secure in working and producing.
Some grassroots unions are creative in applying information technology, creating internal Zalo groups to promptly update policies and reflect the thoughts and aspirations of union members; building a digital union app for union members to register for support or report problems. These methods are modern, fast, transparent and effective. Thanks to that, union members and workers connect faster and all problems about policies and regimes are promptly resolved and improved. This is also a channel for the union to promote propaganda, creating a united and modern working environment for workers.
In addition to activities to care for material life, many Trade Unions have promoted the organization of cultural and sports programs to help employees relieve stress after work. In particular, creative playgrounds recently organized by Trade Unions have brought newness, attracting employees to participate.
Chairman of the Trade Union of Global Mechanical Power Company Limited (Trang Bom Commune) Nguyen Van Tiep said: The company won first prize in the Labor Photo Contest organized by the superior Trade Union. He is very pleased because this new playground has helped spread the image of hard work of workers. He hopes that the Provincial Labor Federation will continue to have many good models for workers to participate in, contributing to improving their spiritual life after work.
