The first meeting of the Steering Committee for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in Dak Lak province

On the afternoon of November 12, the Steering Committee for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term of Dak Lak province (referred to as the Provincial Election Steering Committee) held its first meeting to deploy important contents.

At the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee Nguyen Thuong Hai announced Decision No. 11-QD/TU dated October 24, 2025 on the establishment of the Steering Committee for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term of the province. Accordingly, the Steering Committee consists of 25 members with alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet as Head of the Committee. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hoa An as Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee. Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Y Giang Gry Nie Knong; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Huynh Thi Chien Hoa; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Do Huu Huy.

The conference also approved the Notice of assignment of tasks to members of the Provincial Election Steering Committee; announced the Decision to establish a Working Group to assist the Provincial Election Steering Committee with Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Ngoc Tuan as Head.

Recently, Dak Lak province has issued important documents to lead and direct Party committees at all levels, agencies, units and localities to implement the contents of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in the province. The Provincial People's Committee has coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to unify personnel and establish the Election Committee for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and provincial People's Councils for the 2026-2031 term, consulted the Provincial Party Committee on personnel and established the Provincial Election Committee (105 days before the election) according to regulations.

Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Dinh Thi Thu Thanh spoke at the conference.

The Department of Justice organized an online contest "Learning about the law on election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies". The Department of Home Affairs has proactively deployed to agencies, units and localities documents related to the implementation of election work in the province; deployed and coordinated with the Provincial Police to provide population and voter data to serve the election work; requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to coordinate with the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the same level to establish Election Committees of communes and wards according to regulations. By October 11, 2025, 27 localities had established Election Committees.

Speaking at the conference, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet acknowledged the initiative of agencies and units in implementing tasks to prepare for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. At the same time, he requested members of the Steering Committee and the Working Group of the Provincial Election Steering Committee to base on the Notice of assignment of tasks to lead and direct agencies, units and localities to implement the election work to ensure progress, time and in accordance with regulations.

Agencies and localities need to fully, timely and synchronously deploy legal requirements and tasks, absolutely not allowing procedural errors to affect the election work, the right to vote and run for election according to the provisions of law; carefully prepare personnel work to ensure democracy, objectivity and compliance with regulations; strengthen communication and propaganda of voter rights, especially for voters in remote, isolated and border areas, workers in industrial parks, youth and students; organize systematically and professionally, work early, remotely and proactively in the spirit of "6 clear"; strengthen inspection and supervision, put voters at the center, information must be transparent, easy to access, creating maximum convenience for candidates and voters.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested to focus on immediately issuing documents, working regulations and specific action plans of the Provincial Election Steering Committee; Specific action plans of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee related to the election work; Election propaganda work plan; Specific plan of the Election Committee according to the set schedule. The Department of Home Affairs immediately issued a set of documents summarizing the Central and local directives for units and localities to study and implement. Units and localities must grasp the ideological situation among the people, ensure security and order before, during and after the election...

Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized that the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels is an important political event of the country. Therefore, all levels, sectors and members of the Steering Committee need to uphold the sense of responsibility, proactively coordinate closely, seriously implement the roadmap and plan according to regulations; promote propaganda work, create unity in awareness and action in the whole society, contributing to the successful organization of the election in the province.
