Online conference to announce and implement Decision No. 768 of the Prime Minister

On the afternoon of April 28, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a national online conference to announce and implement Decision No. 768 of the Prime Minister on approving the adjustment of the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII). Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien chaired. At the Bac Ninh bridge, comrade Dao Quang Khai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired.

Overview of the Conference at Bac Ninh bridge

At the Conference, the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade presented Decision No. 768 of the Government on approving the adjustment of the VIII Power Plan. Accordingly, the development goal of the VIII Power Plan is to firmly ensure national energy security, meet the requirements of socio -economic development and industrialization and modernization of the country. At the same time, successfully implement a fair energy transition associated with production modernization, building a smart grid, advanced power system management, in line with the trend of green transformation, emission reduction, and development of science and technology in the world. Form a comprehensive energy industry ecosystem based on renewable energy and new energy.

Concluding the Conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien requested that ministries and branches, according to their functions and tasks, actively coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to study, review, amend and supplement relevant legal regulations; Strengthen communication and dissemination of the adjusted Power Plan VIII to create social consensus; Proactively coordinate with localities to submit to the Prime Minister a plan to implement the Plan. Vietnam Electricity Group focuses resources, accelerates the progress of assigned projects; Localities urgently update power planning, approve investment policies, arrange land and clear sites; Prioritize the final handling of slow-progressing renewable energy projects to ensure electricity supply. The Ministry of Industry and Trade commits to always accompany and closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities in implementing the task of power development, contributing to ensuring national energy security.
