Vietnam Journalists Association unanimously serves the Fatherland and the people: Solidarity - Discipline - Professionalism - Creativity

On the morning of April 21, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Journalists Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025) and the 2025 National Conference. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Dang Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; representatives of leaders of a number of central and local departments, ministries and branches; veteran journalists and more than 500 delegates representing more than 26,000 members nationwide.

At the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , reviewed the 75-year journey of steadfastness and creativity of the Vietnamese revolutionary journalists. On April 21, 1950, in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district (Thai Nguyen), the Vietnam Journalists Association was officially established. Over 75 years of development, the Vietnam Journalists Association has always been a vanguard force on the ideological and cultural front; a political - social - professional organization of journalists, innovating its methods of operation, actively participating in social supervision and criticism, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system. From a few hundred initial members, the Association now has more than 26,300 members, operating in 63 provincial and municipal journalist associations, 21 inter-associations and 223 affiliated associations. The network is increasingly professional, playing a pivotal role in building a healthy and humane press environment.

Entering a new development period with the requirement of comprehensive digital transformation, the Association has been implementing many key tasks: organizing training and professional development for reporters in the digital age; enhancing the application of new media technology; focusing on training professional ethics; building a team of journalists who are "both red and professional". Strengthening international cooperation, proactively integrating with regional and world press; absorbing the quintessence of human culture to improve the quality, level and mettle of the country's press.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Journalists Association summarized and evaluated the results of activities at all levels of the association in 2024, deployed key tasks in 2025, and determined the theme of activities for 2025: "Vietnam Journalists Association unanimously serves the Fatherland and the people: Solidarity - Discipline - Professionalism - Creativity". Continue to implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, at the same time discuss and agree on solutions to remove difficulties to improve the quality and efficiency of operations and promote the role and position of the association at all levels in the process of implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently" in conjunction with thoroughly implementing Directive 43-CT/TW of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation".

Congratulating and praising the glorious achievements of the Vietnam Journalists Association and its members over the past 75 years, speaking at the ceremony, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, requested the Vietnam Journalists Association to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the policy of arranging, streamlining, and merging socio-political organizations and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State. Positioning the role and responsibility of the press and the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new era in accordance with the Party's orientation, viewpoints, and policies of "building a professional, humane, and modern press and media". Timely recommending to the Party, State, and Government mechanisms and policies to support press development, towards comprehensive digital transformation of press activities in the digital environment. Proactively organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) solemnly, practically, and widely spread the role and mission of revolutionary press in the new period.
