The glorious journey

Proud of the glorious revolutionary tradition of Ca Mau journalism, Journalist Ngo Minh Toan briefly outlined each stage of formation and development. In the pre-uprising period, there were many rich and powerful journalistic activities in the province, with indelible marks, laying a solid foundation for the development of Ca Mau revolutionary journalism in the following historical periods.

During the long resistance war against French colonialism, cultural and press activities took place vigorously with the combination of higher-level and local press agencies. Typically, in 1947, the Provincial Party Committee launched the newspaper Chien, the voice of the Provincial Party Committee, promptly transmitting information, reflecting the emulation movement and encouraging the fighting spirit of cadres, soldiers and people.

After the Geneva Agreement in 1954, the revolutionary press in Ca Mau switched to secret activities, adapting to the new situation. After the Dong Khoi uprising in 1960, the Press - Literature and Arts Subcommittee was established, publishing the newspaper Chien (later renamed Ca Mau Giai Phong) and the Literature and Arts Magazine Lua Vang. The outstanding mark of the revolutionary press in Ca Mau during this period demonstrated its strong pioneering role, contributing to the overall victory of the province and the whole country in the resistance war against the US to save the country.

After the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, Ca Mau press entered a new phase, focusing on the task of stabilizing the socio-political situation and economic reform and development. Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Ca Mau press has made breakthrough developments, demonstrating the growth of various forms of mass media.

Journalist Pham Van Tri concluded: From the dawn of the revolution and through the stages of struggle, Ca Mau province's revolutionary press has always been present side by side with the Party and the People, becoming a shock force fighting selflessly for the ideal goals of the Party and the revolution. In that long-term struggle, the press devoted all its faith, enthusiasm, devoted all its intellectual vitality and blood to the revolutionary cause.
