The complex of communal house, pagoda and ancestral temple relics of Tho Ha is located in the center of Tho Ha village - an ancient village typical of the Northern Delta. Based on Han Nom documents, especially 30 ancient stone steles dating from the 17th to 19th centuries, it shows that the relics were formed very early and were restored and embellished in later periods. The works in the relic complex still retain unique traditional architectural and artistic features along with valuable documents and artifacts.
Nearly 100 ancient Buddha statues, a system of worshiping thrones, palanquins, national treasures of Tho Ha communal house, a system of stone steles, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, and ceramic incense bowls and incense burners - unique products of Tho Ha pottery village are preserved here. The Tho Ha traditional festival takes place on January 20, 21, and 22 every year, recreating and promoting typical folk cultural values, contributing to connecting the community, preserving traditions and creating a highlight for the development of local cultural tourism .
With outstanding values, the complex of communal house, pagoda and Tho Ha ancestral altar has been ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tho Ha festival has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage; Tho Ha communal house's votive gate has been recognized as a national treasure.
At the seminar, managers, scientists and researchers contributed many opinions affirming the unique historical, cultural, scientific, architectural and artistic values of the relic complex; provided additional documents and comments to complete the scientific dossier.
It is proposed to clarify and be more precise about the age of the works and artifacts preserved here to evaluate and analyze in depth the architectural and artistic value of the relic complex. The analysis and evaluation need to link the relics with the connection of geographical location, landscape space, cultural history, architectural art, festivals, especially emphasizing the close connection of the relics with the economic and cultural life of local people along the Nguyet Duc River (Cau River)...
Taking note of the comments, the delegates chairing the discussion affirmed that this is the basis for the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Viet Yen town to receive, edit and complete the scientific dossier to propose the Prime Minister to consider and decide to rank the relic complex of communal house, pagoda and Tho Ha ancestral temple as a special national relic. At the same time, continue to pay attention to implementing solutions to preserve and promote the value of the relic to contribute to tourism development.
