Just a few minutes after the match started, Pleiku Stadium had to welcome heavy rain, which affected the playing style of both teams. In the first half of the match, the two teams created a tense situation when SHB Da Nang needed a victory while HAGL also did not want 3 points at home. However, it was not until the last minutes of the half that the opening goal was scored. In the 45th minute, from Duy Cuong's favorable cross from the right wing, Minh Quang jumped high and headed the ball accurately, defeating goalkeeper Trung Kien, bringing SHB Da Nang to the lead 1-0.

In the second half, HAGL was forced to push up their formation to put pressure in search of an equalizer. In the 63rd minute, from a cross by Van Son towards the far post, Bao Toan's poor finish accidentally became an assist for Minh Vuong to head the ball into Bui Tien Dung's net, equalizing 1-1 for the home team.

However, just 11 minutes later, the away team regained the lead. In the 74th minute, from a pass from his teammate on the left wing, Phan Van Long skillfully handled the ball to eliminate two HAGL defenders before finishing low into the far corner, defeating goalkeeper Trung Kien for the second time, bringing SHB Da Nang to a 2-1 lead.

At this point, HAGL had to play all out if they didn’t want to lose at home. In the following minutes, the team from the mountain town continuously attacked and besieged the visitors’ goal.

In the 81st minute, Minh Vuong was fouled outside the Da Nang penalty area. The HAGL captain himself kicked the ball so hard that Bui Tien Dung could not block it even though he touched the ball.

After equalizing the score 2-2, the team from the mountain town maintained pressure on SHB Da Nang's field. However, no more goals were scored.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, helping HAGL gain 28 points, thereby opening the door to successful relegation. Meanwhile, SHB Da Nang with 21 points temporarily surpassed Binh Dinh to take 13th place, however, the team from the land of Vo played 2 fewer matches.

In the remaining matches, Ho Chi Minh City lost 0-2 to Becamex Binh Duong, The Cong - Viettel drew 2-2 with Hai Phong.
